Planting Guide
Planting your Cherry Laurel rootball trees is quick and straightforward:
Dig a suitable hole or trench large enough for the rootball.
Place the plant into the hole with the hessian sack still intact – no need to remove it.
Backfill with soil, gently firm down, and water thoroughly.
Continue to water regularly, especially during dry spells, to encourage strong root establishment.
What is Rootball?
Rootball plants are grown in the ground, not containers, and then carefully lifted for planting. This method ensures stronger, more established plants. Here's why rootball trees are a superior choice:
Field-Grown – Raised in large open ground for stronger root systems and natural growth habits.
Larger, More Mature Plants – Bigger and bushier than container-grown alternatives, for instant impact in your garden or project.
Wrapped in Hessian – Each rootball is wrapped in a biodegradable hessian sack to hold the soil and roots together during transport.
Plant with Sack On – No need to remove the hessian before planting – it naturally decomposes in the soil.
Seasonal Availability – Only available during the traditional rootball season (autumn to early spring), when plants can be safely lifted and replanted.
